The day of rain, and the second exam

Today is the 4th of June, and it has been a gloomy day here at the GRC.  Clouds loomed in the sky above, threatening of rain and storms.  The rain began just after breakfast and prevented us from going out to Snapshot Reef.  Instead of going out, we spent the morning studying for the evening’s test and preparing for upcoming presentations.  Other students took this time to continue analyzing research data, or to catch up on their sleep. The clouds persisted after lunch, so we gathered in the classroom to discuss plans for the afternoon.  Most of the class decided to head to Monument and study on the beach and build sand castles, while a few remained at the GRC to continue studying and take some time to relax with a movie.  After dinner, everyone headed to the classroom for some last minute cramming, the room buzzing with anxiety as the test neared.  The test consisted of field identifications along with questions related to biodiversity and reef structure.   Along with a long question at the end related to data gathered from transects performed in the field several days prior.  With our second test of the program completed, all that remains is the final exam.  Our last week will be spent studying and doing research in our own various fields.
