POWER attempts to foster an environmentally-conscious community at Wittenberg. Additionally, POWER works to raise awareness of environmental issues to the students and the larger Springfield community.
POWER annually hosts Power Week, which is a week-long event that provides education to the Wittenberg community about ways to save energy, what can be recycled, and a campus clean-up. Larger events include Recycling Competitions and the Residence Hall Power Competitions, in which all residence halls compete to recycle the most (measured in pounds) and save the most energy. This raises awareness of power usage and what can be recycled - two of the easiest ways to be environmentally conscious! Every event hosted by POWER is open to all of campus. The president of power also sits on the Sustainability Task Force, a collaboration between the students and faculty that works on ways to make Wittenberg greener.
